Today I worked on paper a bit. Also, since I'm becoming more comfortable with Python, I'm starting to now delve into the meatier bits of astronomy that will be needed to recognize objects. There is still a lot of base knowledge that I haven't learned yet so I've been looking into the more technical stuff - velocity dispersion, half-light radii, virial theorem, etc.
